Executive Director, Securities Association of Singapore

The Securities Association of Singapore (SAS) is an association of stockbroking companies comprising both local and foreign securities firms. The Executive Director will support the Chairman, Executive Committee (Exco), and member firms to advance the interests of the securities industry.

The Executive Director is a senior leadership role responsible for strengthening member engagement and representing the industry in discussions with regulators and other stakeholders in the financial services ecosystem.

Reporting to the Chairman and Exco, the successful candidate will ensure that SAS initiatives are aligned with the Association’s vision and mission. As an operational leader, the role requires a disciplined, hands-on, and results-oriented individual who can lead a lean team with agility and passion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Chairman and Exco in implementing the SAS 5-Year Transformation Plan, including dashboard tracking and progress reporting.
  • Lead membership growth initiatives and support membership retention efforts.
  • Coordinate meetings with regulators and policymakers, including the collation and presentation of industry feedback where required.
  • Develop and implement strategies and initiatives that enhance membership experience and deliver value to members.
  • Organise and support the annual conference together with the Conference Chair and committee members.
  • Convene, organise, record, and follow up on meetings of SAS Exco and working groups on behalf of the Exco, particularly on policy, regulatory, and technology-related matters.
  • Liaise and negotiate with vendors or solution providers on behalf of members.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and administration of the Association’s office.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, with familiarity in developments affecting the securities industry.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills to support working groups and industry consultations.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders, regulators, and member firms.
  • Strong analytical and strategic decision-making skills, with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated experience as a team leader.

Reporting Line

The Executive Director reports to the Chairman and Exco of SAS.
